Bruno Mars Sting Rihanna Ziggy And Damien Marley Steal The Show At The 2013 Grammy Awards
(AS Performance Grammys _)
Ah The Grammys...sigh. Where do I even begin? I'll start with this photo of the stage I took right before the show started. I had the pleasure of attending The Grammys this year. The performance & tribute by Bruno, Rihanna, Ziggy and Damien Marley was hands down the best performance of the night. The Hooligan band sounded absolutely incredible ringing throughout the Staples Center. Not to mention the smooth vocals of Sting and Bruno. You could literally feel the energy through the whole crowd. Hearing Ziggy Marley's voice as he joined Rihanna for "Could You Be Loved" brought smiles to everyone's faces (just like Frank Ocean as the camera panned to him) and you could feel the love in the room and Bob Marley's spirit. When Damien Marley took the stage (with dreads that practically touch the floor), the energy meter jumped up 10 levels! All this is pretty evident in a live tweet below from DJ/Producer Steve Aoki who was also singing along while Wiz Khalifa and Amber Rose danced along. Turn up the volume to feel the love!
I'm not sure who was responsible for each particular arrangement but the whole thing was genius. Such effortless smooth transitions into each song. Bruno and Sting taking turns singing the signature Bob Marley "Aayoooooo" was my particular favorite because just listening to their voices ringing through the arena, you couldn't tell which was which. I had to watch the video back just to find out. Check out the full performance below if you haven't already (if it doesn't load correctly try refreshing/reloading the page).

If you're wondering how Bruno was able to get everyone in the arena to clap along, it's because producer Ken Erlich made an announcement just before the show started telling everyone not to use their cell phones during the show. We all know how Bruno hates when the audience doesn't get involved because they're too busy taking pictures or recording video so hopefully he was pleased. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get good pictures of his performance but on another note, I was able to sneak a picture of another great performance. Maroon 5 and Alicia Keys! Never knew Alicia could play drums too!
