Bruno Mars Wins And Performs Treasure At The 2014 Brit Awards

Last night, Bruno Mars was   up for International Male Solo Artist at the 2014 Brit Awards. He was up against Drake, Eminem, John Grant, and Justin Timberlake.

He and partner Philip Lawerence had a little fun getting to the show.

This is the second win of this category for Bruno, as he won back in 2012. Congrats Bruno!

Watch his performance and acceptance speech below!

Bruno Mars Nominated For Four Grammy Awards At 2014 Grammys

(Grammys)

Bruno Mars has been nominated for four Grammys for the 56th Annual 2014 Grammy Awards, though some say technically it's five. He is nominated for Record Of The Year for "Locked Out Of Heaven," and Song Of The Year for "Locked Out Of Heaven." He is also nominated for Best Pop Solo Performance for "When I Was Your Man," and Best Pop Vocal Album for Unorthodox Jukebox. A few of these may not be televised but my hopes are up that he wins!

Some argue it's five because   Sultan + Ned Shepard's great   "Locked Out Of Heaven" remix   is nominated for Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical. You be the judge.

Bruno Mars Nominated for 2013 American Music Awards

(AMAs)

It's that time of the year again, and Bruno Mars has been nominated for not one, not two, but three 2013 American Music Awards. Read on to see what he is nominated for and how to vote.

(AS Performance VMAs)

Last night, Bruno Mars took home his first ever MTV Video Music Award. But he did it in a big way. You see, he left with not one, but TWO VMAs! The second most awards won by a performer that night (Justin Timberlake and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis won 3 each). Not bad for a first timer. He won Best Male Video for "Locked Out Of Heaven" and Best Choreography for "Treasure." Congratulations to Bruno and the Hooligans.

Not only did he take home two awards, but he also gave a spectacular firey lazer beaming performance of "Gorilla." This was the first televised live performance of "Gorilla."

I'm not quite sure which was more special. The fact that he won for the first time or that he brought his father Peter Hernandez as his "date." I'm sure it had to be a pretty special moment to have his dad there with him for such a special achievement. Probably even more so after   losing his mother.

I think the sentiment was captured with this tweet/instagram from his sisters group   The Lylas. "There are no words to express how proud we are of this moment and the award has nothing to do with it..."

Check out his acceptance speech and the first televised performance of "Gorilla" below.

Check him out in the press room after winning those awards.

The big day is almost here. Here's to hoping our boy Bruno wins big at this year's VMAs, and that all our voting efforts paid off. He'll be seated in the front row, next to Lady Gaga and Selena Gomez. Here's some behind the scenes footage of where the celebs will be sitting.

Bruno Mars Wins 2013 Teen Choice Awards

(Other Award Shows)

Bruno Mars won two Teen Choice Awards at the 2013 awards. He won for Choice Summer Music Star: Male and Choice R&B Artist. He gave a hillarious acceptance speech, demonstrating his "R&B voice." Hmmmmm that voice sounds familiar. Sounds a lot like   Philip Lawrence  but....Do you have love for Bruno Mars?

Bruno Mars Performs At The 2013 Billboard Music Awards

(AS Performance Other _)

Although Bruno Mars made it to the finals for the first ever   Billboard Milestone Award, Justin Bieber ended up taking the award home on Sunday night May 19th, 2013.

However, that didn't stop Bruno from showing up and putting on a bedazzling performance. Equipped with disco balls, flashy gold lights, shiny red Gucci suits, groovin' dance moves, and let us not forget the gold chains, the performance was befit for his 70's-esque new single "Treasure."

Bruno Mars Wins 2013 ASCAP Pop Music Award For It Will Rain

(Other Award Shows _)

Last night(April 17th 2013), the 30th Annual ASCAP Pop Music Awards were held at the Loews Hotel in Hollywood California. Bruno Mars, Philip Lawrence, and Ari Levine were awarded in the Most Performed Songs category for their song "It Will Rain."

The trio was also recognized in the same category for their contributions to "Young Wild And Free." Though they were not there to accept, co-writer, and OG Hooligan band member   Brody Brown   was there to accept the award.

Bruno Mars Performs At The 2013 Logie Awards

(AS Performance Other Australia _)

Bruno Mars performed "Locked Out Of Heaven" at the 2013 TV Week Logie Awards in Australia. The Logie Awards are "the Australian television industry awards," which would be similar to the Emmy Awards in the United States. Why are they called the Logies? They were named after the Scottish inventor of televsion, John Logie Baird.

In case you missed it, check out video of the performance and interview, as well as tweets and a few pics (click the links in the tweet to see the photos).

Bruno Mars Sting Rihanna Ziggy And Damien Marley Steal The Show At The 2013 Grammy Awards

(AS Performance Grammys _)

Ah The Grammys...sigh. Where do I even begin? I'll start with this photo of the stage I took right before the show started. I had the pleasure of attending The Grammys this year. The performance & tribute by Bruno, Rihanna, Ziggy and Damien Marley was hands down the best performance of the night. The Hooligan band sounded absolutely incredible ringing throughout the Staples Center. Not to mention the smooth vocals of Sting and Bruno. You could literally feel the energy through the whole crowd. Hearing Ziggy Marley's voice as he joined Rihanna for "Could You Be Loved" brought smiles to everyone's faces (just like Frank Ocean as the camera panned to him) and you could feel the love in the room and Bob Marley's spirit. When Damien Marley took the stage (with dreads that practically touch the floor), the energy meter jumped up 10 levels! All this is pretty evident in a live tweet below from DJ/Producer   Steve Aoki   who was also singing along while Wiz Khalifa and Amber Rose danced along. Turn up the volume to feel the love!

Bruno Mars Recalls Preparing For The Grammys Following Whitney Houston's Passing

(Grammys _)

In the television special The Grammys Will Go On: A Death In The Family, Bruno Mars, LL Cool J, Taylor Swift, Jennifer Hudson, Grammy producers, and others recall their reactions and preparations for the 54th Annual Grammy Awards following the passing of the beloved Whitney Houston. The show aired on CBS February 9th, 2013. Watch the official link to the show below.

Since the show is supposed to be about Whitney and not Bruno, I didn't feel right highlighting only Bruno's parts so you'll have to watch the whole thing. I will tell you though that Bruno is sprinkled throughout the whole show. There is also a small clip from the show that shows Bruno in rehearsals for this year's Grammys below.

If the link is not working, it is most likely because the rightful owners (CBS) removed the file. You may try finding it elsewhere on the internet.

Bruno Mars Rihanna and Sting - Behind The Scences At 2013 Grammy Award Rehearsals

(Grammys _)

Bruno Mars is gearing up for his Grammy performance with Rihanna and Sting. Check out this video from Artisan News Service of behind the scenes footage of their Friday rehearsal (2/8/2013). You'll also see Ziggy and Damien Marley, which adds fuel to the fire about their rumored performance described in   my previous post.

Bruno Mars Rihanna Sting Grammy Collaboration Will Be Fire

(Grammys _)

According to an article from  Entertainment Weekly,  the performace from Bruno Mars, Rihanna, and Sting at Sunday's 2013 Grammy Awards is definitely something to look forward to. He also explains how the collaboration came about. And that's coming straight from the producer's mouth. He also explains the connection to the Marleys, as I hinted at  previously.

"I mean, Bruno does it, like the song he’s going to do on the show, ”Locked Out of Heaven,” it didn’t take me long to call Sting when I heard that one. There’s a lot of the Police in that song, and he isn’t shy about acknowledging that. “Locked Out of Heaven” grew out of his admiration for the Police and for Sting. And Sting and the Police grew out of the music of the Marleys. It’s all generational and they know it."

Will you be tuning in?

Bruno Mars At Rehearsals For The 2013 Grammys

(Grammys _)

Bruno Mars is gearing up for The Grammys. Presenter Pauley Perrette from the tv show NCIS tweeted pictures from rehearsals for the 2013 Grammy Awards.

Rocsi Diaz (former 106 & Park host and current Entertainment Tonight correspondent) caught up with the Executive Producer for The Grammys, Ken Ehrlich. He says Bruno Mars, Sting, and Rihanna will perform a tribute to a reggae legend on Sunday's show. Take a look at the video below and you'll also see who Bruno will be sitting by at the show!

Rumor has it the tribute is to Bob Marley and that perhaps some of Marley's descendants will take part in the performance. This definitely sounds like a pretty good possibility...given the fact that we know Bruno knows Damien Marley since Damien was featured on "Liquor Store Blues," and was in the   music video.   Not to mention the fact that Bob Marley's birthday recently passed on February 6th. It's also worth noting that Rihanna is a huge Bob Marley fan, and pictures of Bruno, Sting, Rihanna, Damien and Ziggy Marley together backstage are already circulating the internet, along with various articles. Hmmmm, putting all that together, what do you think?

Bruno Mars, Rihanna, And Sting To Perform Together On The 2013 Grammy Awards

(Grammys _)

It's official! Bruno Mars, Sting, and Rihanna will be taking the stage together to perform on the 2013 Grammy awards. The show will air live from the Staples Center in Downtown Los Angeles on Sunday February 10th 2013. It will be broadcast on CBS from 8-11:30pm (ET/PT). And who will be in attendance? Yours truly. This is sure to be a great live performance!

So what are some of the other pairings of performers for "music's biggest night?" Alicia Keys and Maroon 5 will be performing together. Ed Sheeran and Elton John are dueting for the first time. Miranda Lambert and Dierks Bently will also perform together.

Other previously announced performers are Kelly Clarkson, Justin Timberlake, The Black Keys, FUN, the Lumineers, Mumford & Sons, Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, and Jack White. Presenters include Beyonce, Prince, Hunter Hayes, Pauley Perrette, Jennifer Lopez, Carly Rae Jepsen, Katy Perry, Kaley Cuoco, Niel Patrick Harris, Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, and Kieth Urban.
